- Discuss with Fabian on racking the P550 systems.
- Followed up with Tenstorrent about hardware for Fedora — it got silently dropped. They've now finally filed an internal request. I don't feel like they have the discipline to follow through.
- Fedora RISC-V SIG meeting: Figure out plans for solving the [debugedit bug](https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=33789), what to do about F43, plans for F44. Discussion with MarkW and others on the 'debugedit'. Mark is testing a draft patch and should post it upstream soon. The Matrix bot [summary](https://kashyapc.fedorapeople.org/risc-v/notes/riscv-sig-summary-by-llm-20Jan2026.png) was surprisingly good, with no hallucinations.
- Read up on a new, productivity-destroying internal policy.
- FOSDEM prep: wrote up a [draft outline](https://etherpad.opendev.org/p/fosdem-2026-fedora), got some community feedback.

2026-01-23 11:18:00
- More incremental progress: Mark Weilaard managed to get a [working fix](https://inbox.sourceware.org/debugedit/20260121123342.137521-1-mark@klomp.org) and a [build](https://riscv-koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=60319) for the 'debugedit' issue, which has unblocked a few packages. The fix has some rough edges - David found a [bug](https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=33823). We're on it.
- Did a comparitive 'xz' benchmark on two RISC-V machines, as part of FOSDEM prep, and [wrote it up](https://kashyapc.fedorapeople.org/risc-v/notes/p550-vs-dp1000-xz-bench.html).
- Wrote to Tenstorrent folks about benchmark data, and shared what we're looking for.
- Upgraded a RISC-V box to F43.

2026-01-26 12:49:00
- More email exchange with Tenstorrent for hardware coordination.
- Investigated a 'binutils' build Rawhide failure on DP1000.
- Worked on FOSDEM talk text/slides. Spent too much time reading/writing/debugging LaTeX code.
- Restarted running after a six-month gap. (Serious runners will call it a "jogging pace", but they can get off my lawn.)

===================

2026-01-21 18:48:00
- internal team meeting and status updates
- reported bug for rawhide firefox builds [crashing on startup](https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2431315)
- tested migrating os-autoinst-distri-fedora to forgejo, hit [same bug as fedora_openqa migration](https://codeberg.org/forgejo/forgejo/issues/10757)
- looked into openqa failures after the mass rebuild merge, turned out to be two things: systemd dep change meant [anaconda needs dep change](https://github.com/rhinstaller/anaconda/pull/6855), and had to [untag mozjs140 again](https://forge.fedoraproject.org/releng/tickets/issues/13178)
- started work on updating openQA packages

2026-01-22 19:09:00
- testing farm team sync meeting
- looked into lots of failed openqa podman tests, seems to be [some kind of quay.io connectivity issue](https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/os-autoinst-distri-fedora/issue/481)
- [got rid of the qa 'landing page'](https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/issue/859) per discussion last year - this was unexpectedly complex, required [quite a big ansible commit](https://pagure.io/fedora-infra/ansible/c/382f947effbd1f5771f72b0d958e059cc700804e?branch=main), several follow-up commits, some long playbook runs, and some manual changes to drop the openshift bits
- tested https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/mozjs140/pull-request/2 (incorrectly, it turns out this morning - which led to a bunch of confusion, but *also* indirectly resulted in us finally figuring out the symbol bug, so yay?)
- deployed new os-autoinst build to openQA staging for testing
- started work on new openqa package build
- [reported a bug in dnf repoclosure](https://github.com/rpm-software-management/dnf5/issues/2582) after investigating why rmdepcheck didn't catch a dep issue mhroncok noticed (on follow-up it turns out I disabled the rich dep checks in dnf repoclosure in the first place; since then they were fixed and re-enabled, but I didn't realize that change hadn't been shipped in Fedora yet)

2026-01-23 17:54:00
- dealt with lots of failed #openQA tests: [minor fix](https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/os-autoinst-distri-fedora/c/1d6a962) to the SMB domain server deployment, [test and needle updates](https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/os-autoinst-distri-fedora/c/41df08d) for plasma-login, [small fix](https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/os-autoinst-distri-fedora/c/c2b5698) for post-install swap check; all of these wound up being relatively small, but there was a lot of red ink and it took a while to verify all the fixes and restart all the failures...
- bunch of needle updates for Rawhide compose tests that I didn't commit yet
- bit of cloud test design discussion with psklenar (how to track results of tests on non-validation event composes - more wiki pages? resultsdb? something else?)
- added a [server build/install test](https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/os-autoinst-distri-fedora/c/0ebd4fd) to openQA (so we'll gate anything like https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2429501 in future)
- got updated openQA package [built](https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=141462473), will test it today

2026-01-26 16:39:00
- migrated [fedora_openqa](https://forge.fedoraproject.org/quality/fedora_openqa) and [os-autoinst-distri-fedora](https://forge.fedoraproject.org/quality/os-autoinst-distri-fedora/) to forgejo
- [sent a PR](https://forge.fedoraproject.org/quality/os-autoinst-distri-fedora/pulls/485) to fix a test failure ngompa noticed
- looked into cockpit tests failing after packagekit update landed, did a quick dirty patch, filed a [PR-as-issue](https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit/pull/22800)
- some minor updates to openQA-python-client - [a whitespace tweak](https://github.com/os-autoinst/openQA-python-client/pull/79), [CI python version update](https://github.com/os-autoinst/openQA-python-client/pull/80)
