2025-12-16 09:44:00
- Made all the necessary fixes to Fedora Media Writer test (post review)
- Finished a big portion of the Quarterly Connections
- Experimented with Gemini in the Google inbox

2025-12-15 10:54:00
- I finished the blog post about Grub CLI and how to use it to boot a system, I submitted it on the portal and it is now undergoing the reviewing.
- I finished refactoring Fedora Easy Karma using Claude and opened a WIP pull request to discuss it and review it (https://forge.fedoraproject.org/quality/fedora-easy-karma/pulls/72)
- Started working on the Quarterly Connections

2025-12-12 09:52:00
- Sick day.

2025-12-11 10:09:00
- Fixed Fedora Media Writer PR.
- Talked to Petr about how he could proceed with his Cloud testing.
- Continued with the blog post - this goes somehow slower than I would have expected

2025-12-10 12:20:00
- Rewrote the Basic networking test and simplified it significantly to be quick and easy for the common community tester. I will keep the complicated version for automation.
- Wrote and filed a CFP for Flock 2026 (https://cfp.fedoraproject.org/flock-to-fedora-2026/talk/review/QRHM33VUKAZLNKSETP37BDC3DGWRA8RF)
- Attended the All Hands meeting and the Fedora QA meeting.

2025-12-09 10:11:00
- Started refactoring Fedora Easy karma with Claude - received relatively positive results with Claude and got the code refactored. Tthe application still works after the process and the code looks better than before. Reviewing and testing will be needed.
- Started to write a blog post about booting up systems manually with GRUB cli for mojefedora.cz (I am especially proud of the title - "Vykopej si svůj vlastní grub" which is a pun for "Dig your own grave").

- Merged 'f42-25-riscv64' branch with RISC-V patches. Kicked off a build. Finally, OpenJDK is off by back for now!
- Completed Ethics and Compliance training.

2025-12-12 10:41:00
- [Fixed](http://fedora.riscv.rocks:3000/rpms/java-25-openjdk-portable/commit/be1aed98) a build error. (David had to try a couple more times w/ `buildjdkver` to get it right. OpenJDK is painful!)
- Unplanned) Learn more about [ELN](https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/eln/) and how it relates to RISC-V, discussion w/ Stephen Gallagher and Yaakov.

2025-12-11 11:01:00
- [Updated](http://fedora.riscv.rocks:3000/kashyapc/java-25-openjdk-portable) versioned 25 OpenJDK portable with RISC-V specific patches.
- Filed an [issue](https://forge.fedoraproject.org/riscv/planning/issues/4) to investigate the root cause for "JavaCallWrapper" GDB symbol check failure.

- (Several unplanned interrupts yesterday.)
- Responded on a Fedora [MR](https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/xnnpack/pull-request/1) about PyTorch's riscv64 maintenance in Fedora. The current mainatainer has no time or hardware to support it; need to figure out a way forward here.
- Cleared up fuzziness about the hardware situation on Fedora RISC-V Matrix channel.
- The above issue led me to follow up on '#lang-python' Slack from RISE (RISC-V software ecosystem) about support for a CPU-only PyTorch. Requested to file a [tracker](https://gitlab.com/riseproject/python/wheel_builder/-/issues/145).
- Coordinated with RISC-V International (RVI) folks - they reached out to ship hardware for an RVI booth at FOSDEM, and to check if I could carry it to th event.

2025-12-09 10:42:00
- Reviewed a 'mock' [MR](https://github.com/rpm-software-management/mock/pull/1662) for RISC-V chroots, and discussed potential blockers on Matrix.

- more work on forgejo support for ai-code-review, managed to finish up the tests and mark [the PR](https://gitlab.com/redhat/edge/ci-cd/ai-code-review/-/merge_requests/45) as non-draft. I kinda hate this AI-written test approach though (I just converted the existing AI-written github tests), might send a later PR to rip and replace it entirely

- internal rhas follow-up meeting
- proposed a couple of talks for LinuxFest NorthWest 2026 (one on root causing, one on distro testing for a general audience)
- [fixed a cmake package test](https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/cmake/pull-request/58) that was annoying neal
- more work on [forgejo support for ai-code-review](https://gitlab.com/redhat/edge/ci-cd/ai-code-review/-/merge_requests/45), fell down an [openapi rabbit hole](https://codeberg.org/forgejo/forgejo/issues/9428#issuecomment-8868930) along the way. did some absurdly over-defensive coding to make the type checks happy, got partway through converting the github client test suite to forgejo

2025-12-11 18:29:00
- checked #openqa test failures, reported a kernel update with [same panic as previous ones](https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-ef7717f819#comment-4476581), an opencv update [missing various dep rebuilds](https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-34184e1af3#comment-4476599), and anaconda [getting stuck on a screen transition sometimes](https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2421044)
- multiple small needle updates for failed rawhide compose tests - too many to link, see https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/os-autoinst-distri-fedora/commits/main
- [did an epel8 pagure build for infra](https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2025-a1cad9aad6) with some backported fixes (we think we had these somehow deployed as a hotfix before but lost it, so figured we'd do it properly this time)
- provided some requested info on the [firefox 146 crash on aarch64 bug](https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2420679#c4)
- a lot more work on forgejo support for ai-code-review, got it to work at least somewhat, sent a [draft PR](https://gitlab.com/redhat/edge/ci-cd/ai-code-review/-/merge_requests/45)

2025-12-10 17:28:00
- explained openshift app deployment a bit for a newer member of our team

- [tweaked the font check test](https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/os-autoinst-distri-fedora/c/fcb4dcb) with a recommendation from its author
- got some debugging info for [the passt update that had a networking bug that caused openQA podman test to fail](https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-3d462f0aaf)
- started work on adding a forgejo backend to [ai-code-review](https://gitlab.com/redhat/edge/ci-cd/ai-code-review)

- Fought with Gemini when generating meetings summaries, partially gave up. Every week, it behaves differently. For a Markdown summary, it insists on keeping citation notes, even though they clutter the output and I would need to remove them manually before posting the summary. It claims it has a non-overridable system instruction to always include them (I wonder whether it's Google-mandated or Red Hat-mandated). That makes it useless for any text generation that should be copy-pasted somewhere. In the past, it could be convinced to reprint the last output again with citations removed. That no longer works. As my last workaround, I found out that when I switch from Thinking model to Fast one, it can still be convinced. Who knows how long that lasts. A second problem is with generating a plain-text version of the summary for mailing lists. It used to work quite reliably, now it doesn't work at all, always prints it as Markdown. I haven't found a workaround. Gave up on plaintext summaries for this moment.
